The branch of the Spellman family here in North America that we are related to primarily started in the United States and branched out into Canada at the begining of the early 1900's. Hilton G. Spellman, my father was born in Parry, Saskatchewan, Canada. His father Roy Spellman was born in Kansas USA. His father George Spellman was born in Illinois USA. According to my father, our branch of the family left Ireland on a "Buccaneer"sailing ship togeather with the "Phillips family"with whom there was several marrages between.
